LocalNews Heritage Day exhibition; where old meets new by: – October 22, 2012 Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit touring one of the Heritage site houses.The village of Warner put on an excellent display of cultural wear, cuisine, arts and crafts and heritage during the Heritage Day 2012 celebrations on Sunday, October 21st.As part of the Day’s celebrations, the Heritage Day Committee mounted an exhibition with some very interesting historical artifacts; some of which many could not identify. Among them were exercise books used in 1960, sewing machines, lamps, television and radio sets, clothes, suitcases, bath buckets and a cricket scoring book.Locally made picture frame with former prime minister Roosevelt Douglas at Sunday’s exhibitionPresident His Excellency Eluid Williams and his wife, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and government ministers toured the exhibition.President Williams correctly identified several of the artifacts and explained, in some instances, what they were used for and his experiences with them to Nadia Morvan, a member of the Heritage Day Committee who was responsible for organizing the exhibition.It was a good lesson for all as it depicted where we came from as a people and how much we have developed.Here are the photographs of the exhibits: [nggallery id=230]Dominica Vibes Newscenter_img Share 342 Views   4 comments Tweetlast_img read more
