Mourinho needs to buy five or six new players – Neville

first_imgFormer Manchester United defender, Gary Neville, has said Jose Mourinho must sign “five or six” new players before next season.United drew 0-0 with West Brom last Saturday – their 11th draw of this season. On Monday, Mourinho admitted that the Europa League represents their best chance of qualifying for the Champions League. After the West Brom game, the former Chelsea boss blasted his attackers for not being consistent and Neville is expects another big summer.“In some ways, when you can easily identify your weaknesses and where you need to strengthen, that’s a good thing,” Neville told Sky Sports .“At this moment in time too many mistakes have been made and I think Jose will know that. His frustration with his strikers after the game on Saturday was real.“He’s lining it up, you can see it already. There’s talk of Griezmann coming but he’s lining up for another big summer. It’s not just the attack where he’s short.“He needs a centre-back and a holding midfield player. He needs five or six to come in and probably two or three will go.”last_img read more

Hull City and Newcastle January target available at same price in…

Let’s take you back to the January transfer window, when Hull City were frantically trying to bring a whole new squad in, and Newcastle were calmly attempting to bolster their squad for a strong push for promotion in the second half of the season. Both clubs had very different goals this campaign, yet in January, they shared a target: Angers SCO’s Nicolas Pépé.Both Marco Silva and Rafa Benitez were keen to bring in the Ivory Coast forward, who was having a rather good season with the Ligue 1 side, and a price tag of around €10m was slapped on his back as an invitation. While Hull City were said to have met the demands, Pépé himself wasn’t entirely keen on a big chance midseason, especially not wanting to move countries when things were going well where he currently was. That, however, has changed.Since the fifth of February, the 21-year-old hasn’t started a league game for Angers, coming off the bench in six out of a possible seven opportunities, without ever influencing matches during his 30 minute or so cameos. The manager, Stéphane Moulin, hinted the forward hasn’t been in the right condition to play, while the arrival of Jonathan Bamba on loan from Saint-Etienne has blocked his path to the first-team.Yet, this doesn’t mean a move to England is nailed on for the summer, as Pépé’s priority, according to L’Equipe, would be to sign for Marseille, and continue his development in France, just surrounded by better players. The ability to learn from the likes of France internationals such as Dimitri Payet and Florian Thauvin, while possibly playing European football next season, is certainly an appealing factor, even if the financial side of things might be more attractive in England.L’Equipe expect Angers’ valuation for the summer to be the same as in January, meaning Marseille, and also Lyon, will need to decide whether they would be ready to spend an amount they were reluctant to a few months ago.If not, we could very well see Nicolas Pépé strutting his stuff at the KCOM Stadium or St James’ Park next season.by Taboolaby TaboolaSponsored LinksSponsored LinksPromoted LinksPromoted LinksTrending TodayForge of Empires – Free Online GameIf You Like to Play, this Strategy Game is a Must-HaveForge of Empires – Free Online GameUndo聽多多 Hearmore.asia1969年前出生的香港居民現可免費試戴頂尖的歐洲助聽器聽多多 Hearmore.asiaUndoSingles50Hong Kong: A 40+ Dating Site That Actually Works!Singles50UndoTheTopFiveVPNEnjoy Netflix Now Without Any RestrictionsTheTopFiveVPNUndo美術寶1對1香港媽媽們注意了,速來領取適合4-12歲孩子的繪畫課,手慢無美術寶1對1Undo熱門話題生髮率無敵高!96%的禿頭都獲得改善!←這會不會長太多?熱門話題UndoSmart Tech TrendOver 50? Hundreds attend Chatham-Kent job fair

first_imgHundreds of job seekers took advantage of a chance to meet employers and learn more about the opportunities available during the CK Works! Community Job Fair on Tuesday.A total of 54 employers were on hand at the John D. Bradley Centre in Chatham, with between 450 and 500 positions, full and part time, up for grabs in a wide variety of sectors. Some of these included health care, manufacturing, educational services, agriculture, policing, military, information technology, food services, finance and human services. It was the third year the CK Workforce Planning Board has presented the event, but the first time in the hall at the Bradley Centre.“We moved to the bigger space There’s lots of room. People don’t look like they’re on top of each other,” said workforce planning board project manager Kristy Jacobs.“There’s a lot of mingling room and I think that takes a lot of pressure off of the job seeker.”The doors have just opened and the crowds are already arriving for the CK Works! Community Job Fair at the John D. Bradley Convention Centre this afternoon. The event runs until 7 p.m., so if you’re looking, come on out. #ckont pic.twitter.com/VpJ4yR64Dd— Trevor Terfloth (@DailyNewsTT) October 1, 2019All skill and experience levels were needed, including entry-level, specialized and experienced roles. The event also featured an expanded job seekers section that included community supports, a quiet place to complete applications, and the returning “Check Yourself Station.”Jacobs said municipalities across the province all face similar workforce issues, including skilled trade shortages.“We are all singing the same song. We are all having the same challenges,” she said. “Some peaks and valleys in manufacturing, but overall manufacturing is still strong in Ontario.”Job seekers were impressed with the number of different fields available.“It’s quite a big selection,” said Patrick Klein of Chatham. “(I’m) just trying to keep my options open.”Meeting with employers face-to-face is a valuable opportunity when there are many applicants, Klein added. His girlfriend, Kylie Bramley, said there was “a lot to offer” at the job fair, as she sought part-time employment while she finishes school. The job fair was presented with support from the Employment Resource Centre, Community Living Chatham-Kent, Community Living Wallaceburg, the Canadian Mental Health Association, the Lambton-Kent District school board, the St. Clair Catholic District school board, the Goodwill Career Centre, Employment and Social Services, Economic Development, Resident Attraction and Retention, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, St. Clair College and the St. Clair College Employment [email protected]/DailyNewsTTlast_img read more

3 Things Wrong With Quora’s Potentially Awesome New iPhone App

first_imgTags:#Product Reviews#web Related Posts Uber-hyped question and answer site Quora has finally released its long-awaited iPhone app today and it’s ok. I wish it was better but I’ll probably use it more than the website. As expected, location is a big part of it, though I wish location was more granular and involved automated categorization. That’s not really the biggest let-down though. There are a number of other issues with it. TechCrunch’s MG Siegler says he’s been testing the app for days, yet he didn’t offer any critique of it in his write-up. So I thought I’d focus on three things I’ve noticed this morning that I wish were better. This should be an iPad app, not an iPhone app. Quora is all about in-depth discussion. As Siegler says, “You visit the site just to see what’s going on, 30 minutes later you’re still there.” That’s true – and who wants to spend 30 minutes navigating around inside lengthy posts and comments on a phone? I don’t – I want this Quora app on my iPad. Unfortunately, that’s not supported at launch. It really needs a “mark as read” function. I almost never complain about info overload, but when you’re following a lot of different topics – you get a lot of notifications on your home page. If my brain has to see and skip a question about “why shrimp turns grey when you cook it” one more time, I’m going to scream. Especially on a mobile interface – there needs to be an easy and well executed mark as read function. Personally, I’d like everything I scroll past on the app’s home page to be marked as read, with a “view all” button at the top of the page if I want to see all the day’s notifications again.Navigation is funky. Click on a message in your Quora inbox and you land at the bottom of the page and have to scroll up to read the message. Reading comments on posts takes like 3 clicks to get into browser mode. I’ve got a notification of new content in the Nearby tab and I can neither figure out what the new content is nor make the notification go away.I love Quora, I love what the site is trying to do and I want to love its mobile app. I can’t yet, though. Rush of life

first_img‘Art not only imitates nature, but also completes its deficiencies,’ says Aristotle and taking that idea forward, a gallery in the Capital is providing art lovers quite a treat because Sarath KS’s artwork claims to completely justifies this famous quote. The artist’s solo show is on at the Art Spice Gallery. This exhibition will display around 30 (oil works) artworks of various sizes and created by Sarath between 2007 and 2014.Sarath is very much inspired by nature and ordinary people, their lives, their aspirations and thoughts. People like us can draw inspiration from his paintings and we can easily relate with his artwork. He’s very particular about his work. He makes a proper plan before starting any large artwork, even the preliminary sketch is done only after planning. For small artworks, he goes step by step rather than constructing the entire idea. Initially, a single image is created and then other objects are created. And finally the relation between the two is established. Sarath gives a lot of emphasis to opposites and paradoxes. Also Read – ‘Playing Jojo was emotionally exhausting’Sarath has introduced two new forms of art – Two Way Art and Sound Art. The Two way Art:  It is a new form of art in which two different ideas are shown together by changing the arrangement or alignment of work. Sound Art is still lying at a development stage. It is based on the concept of introducing sounds to change the subject of painting in a way. It is contrary to the Two Way Art.He has also designed products and ads for print media. Though he’s currently working as a civil engineer in a private firm yet his passion for art and creativity is taking him to new levels of fame and popularity. It is not every day you get a chance to see and feel such work of art which will transform your figments of imagination onto canvas. Head over and enjoy this feast for your eyes and leave with a memory for a lifetime. WHERE: Art Spice GalleryWHEN: On till 27 May, 11 am to 7 pmlast_img read more

Obese people need more vitamin E than others

first_imgObese people need to have a diet rich in vitamin E as they require more than normal levels of the vitamin and at the same time they get less of it, suggests new research. While their weight and other problems cause increased oxidative stress, those same problems actually reduce their effective use of vitamin E, the study pointed out. This vitamin is found at highest levels in some foods such as nuts, seeds, and olive oil.Chronic deficiency in vitamin E could compound the wide range of diseases known to be associated with metabolic syndrome, including heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease and cancer, the study pointed out. Also Read – ‘Playing Jojo was emotionally exhausting’Some of the findings of this study are counterintuitive, the researchers said, because vitamin E is a fat soluble micronutrient and, in theory, should be available at increased levels in people who are overweight and eat large amounts of fatty foods. However, the study found that even though circulating vitamin E in the bloodstream may be high, in obese people this essential micronutrient is not finding its way into tissues where it is most needed. Also Read – Leslie doing new comedy special with Netflix “Vitamin E is associated with lipids, or the fats found in the blood, but it is mostly just a micronutrient that’s going along for the ride,” said one of the researchers Maret Traber from Oregon State University in the US.“What we found was that tissues of obese people are rejecting intake of some of these lipids because they already have enough fat,” Traber said.  “In the process they also reject the associated vitamin E,” Traber explained. In this study, the researchers made their findings with a double-blind study of adults, some of whom were healthy and others with metabolic syndrome. The authors concluded that its findings support higher dietary requirements of vitamin E for adults with metabolic syndrome. The findings appeared in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.last_img read more
